Tour to Schwerin and Wismar from Rostock

The transfer to Schwerin takes approximately an hour, hour and a half depending on traffic.

We will begin the excursion with a panoramic tour of Schwerin.

Rich waters and forests, abundant cultural treasures and a fascinating old town characterize the city of Schwerin, former residential city and current capital of the state of Meckleburg-Western Pomerania.

During our excursion we will take a panoramic walk around the Pfaffenteich and the train station, followed by a walking tour, where we will visit the market square with the Town Hall and the Cathedral (exterior visit), the Schlossstrasse with the government buildings and the wonderful and exceptional Schwerin Castle.

Clients who wish will have the option to enter the Castle and visit it inside by paying a supplement of €8.50 per person at the box office. The interior visit will be done on your own (without a guide) since local guides DO NOT have permission. The right to guide inside the castle is reserved for castle staff EXTRA PAYMENT only for closed groups.
Clients who do NOT wish to visit the Castle will have free time of approximately one and a half hours in the old town to walk, shop, etc.
We will finish the visit of Schwerin with a walk through the castle garden and, if there is time, we will also visit the Schelfstadt with the half-timbered houses.

Transfer to Wismar, about 30-40 minutes. Located on the shores of the Baltic Sea, the city of Wismar was part of the Hanseatic League and today is a UNESCO heritage site. It is known for its port, its carefully restored houses, its market square, its historical monuments in the Gothic style and for the hospitality of its inhabitants.

We will begin the visit at the Wismar market, where we will get off the bus and take a walk through it where the "Wismar Water Fountain" (Wasserkunst) is located, a symbol of the city and the Town Hall.

We will visit the Gothic house “Alter Schwede”, the Maria Church square with the exhibition on the works of the open-air church and the “Fürstenhof”, former headquarters and court of the Swedish regents. We will also visit St. George's Church with its reconstruction works, the Heiliggeistkirche Church and Lübsche Street with its old trading houses.

If there is time we will also visit the medieval ditch and irrigation system, the Nikolaikirche church, the Schabbelhaus and the old port.

Return to the port of Rostock/Warnemünde for the farewell.
