Nuraghe, Palmavera and Alghero

Our Excursions guide will meet you at the Port of Porto Torres where we board an air-conditioned coach to take a guided tour to Nuraghe, Palmavera and Alghero.

Departure from Porto Torres by A/C deluxe coach to reach Capo Caccia area for a photo stop.

Along a panoramic road reach Nuraghe Palmavera. Arrival at the Nuraghe and visit. Nuraghe Palmavera is an extremely interesting settlement consisting of a complex nuraghe, the so called palace, surrounded by at least 50 « huts » which are mostly circular.

The main tower of the Nuraghe which still has its dome shaped ceilling dates back to 1100 years B.C . The complex, which was abbandoned in the 5th Century B.C., due to fire, shows the different phases of social life and political organization of the tribal community. Of extreme interest id the « Reunion Hall » where political debates and magical religious cults were held.

At the end of the visit of the Nuraghe drive to Alghero for a walking visit of this interesting town with Catalan Origins. Will visit the inside of San Francesco Church with its nice and interesting Cloister.

We will then return to the Port of Porto Torres so you can re-join your ship for onward passage to your next port of call.
