Murmansk City Tour

We will take a panoramic tour by bus through the seaport, base of the Russian northern fleet,
visit memorial dedicated to all Russian and USSR submariners that died throughout the history,
and have an excursion to the famous nuclear-powered icebreaker named ”Lenin”.
Next we will visit the lighthouse, the monument dedicated to the atomic submarine Kursk (sunk
on August 12, 2008), then visit the Church Savior on Water dedicated to the memory of sailors
who died. After passing the Semenovskoe Lake we will visit the Alyosha Monument that was
built in honor of the Soviet Army that liberated the country in the World War II. The statue is
35.5 meters tall, which makes it second tallest statue in Russia after “The Motherland
Calls” in Volgograd. The soldier faces west, toward the Valley of Glory.

There are scenes of battles of the Soviet soldiers at the base of the monument made of cement.
From there you will have a magnificent view of the city. It is an excellent opportunity to take
great pictures.
Then we will return to the port for boarding.
