  • Duration: 4 hours

Welcome to Genoa, the jewel of the Italian Riviera! This gorgeous city is located on the Ligurian coast, where our representative will meet you upon arrival in the port and take you on a fantastic sightseeing tour. Your air conditioned bus will travel down the iconic Via Gramsci to the centre of Genoa, where the friendly, knowledgeable guide will introduce you to the artefacts of the “Sea Republic.”

You’ll have the opportunity to take in the timeless aquarium of Genoa, built in front of the Palazzo Saint Giorgio, which at one time housed the first bank in Italy. From there the tour continues on to the home of Christopher Columbus. That point marks the beginning of the walking portion of the tour, where the group will take a jaunt through the historic centre of the city to the Saint Lawrence Cathedral.

Next up is the atrium of Ducal Palace and the impressively named Saint Jesus Church, which features two iconic Renaissance paintings by Rubens. There the tour will stop for a few moments to observe the splendour of the Piazza de Ferrari, the town centre capped by a gorgeous bronze fountain in the shadow of the Carlo Felice Theater. The trip ends with a short bus ride up the hill of Carignano (which offers a fantastic panorama view!) before the descent back down to the Piazza della Vittoria and the Arch of the Fallen, a famous monument to commemorate the First World War.

As always, your guide will personally escort you back to port, if you decide you still want to leave Genoa after this fantastic tour! We look forward to seeing you in port soon; a great adventure awaits!
