Aarhus is the main port of Denmark located on the Jutland peninsula. It is the second largest city in Denmark and one of the oldest in the country. It has about 300,000 inhabitants with the total in the region around 800,000. With the large forest area, it remains a fundamental nucleus for Danish transport. The Cathedral (13th century) and episcopacy (951) are the symbols of city’s excellence and the most important in Denmark. It is also a place chosen by the Queen of Denmark as a holiday residence.
You will meet our guide at the port. We will begin our tour with Aarhus Bay and University, founded in 1928, and is the second largest in Denmark.
We will continue our visit with the Aarhus Cathedral, built in the 12 century and dedicated to St. Clemens, patron saint of sailors. Not only known for its long history, it is also known for the treasures it keeps inside. There are plenty of interesting frescoes and the unique altarpiece. In our walk through the ancient streets, the history of the city unfolds - from Aros to Aarhus.
Among other places we will see the Marselisborg Palace and the Memorial Park. Before finishing our excursion, we will cross the city to see the Auditorium, Museum of Art and the City council.

NOTE: Entrance to the Cathedral: Inside the Cathedral you can not be guided so the explanations will be given outside and then you will enter on your own. The entrance to Cathedral is free, but please note that the Cathedral is a church in use and the entrance will be prohibited in case of any ecclesiastical celebrations.
