Welcome to Venice, one of the world’s most beautiful, unique and proudest cities! Our representative will meet you upon arrive in port before taking you on an unforgettable journey through this fantastic city. After arriving you’ll travel through the fabled canal system to St. Mark’s square, which was the political and religious centre of Venice during the days when the city-state was a Mediterranean empire.

Your professional guide will show you the Doge’s Palace which currently serves as the seat of the government and the Court of Justice. Originally built in the 9th Century Byzantine style, the palace in its current form is 14th Century Gothic. You’ll experience it inside and out, observing iconic Renaissance paintings from Titian, Tiepolo, Tintoretto, Carpaccio and Veronese.

Upon departing through the famous Hall of Magistrates, the tour continues over the Bridge of Sighs, an elevated walkway linking the palace to an ancient prison. From there your guide will show you St. Mark’s Cathedral, a breathtaking architectural triumph. The building’s façade demonstrates each of the diverse styles which were incorporated into its construction. It also features the Four Horses, replicas of those taken from the Byzantine Empire when crusaders sacked Constantinople in 1204. You will also see close up beautiful mosaics and the relics of the patron saint.

Venice is a lot to take in during a single day but at the conclusion of the tour your guide will escort you back to port so that you can embark for the next leg of your journey across the Mediterranean. We can’t wait to share this fabulous city with you and look forward to meeting you soon!
