You'll learn about more than 2,000 years of Valencia's history, starting with the Roman ruins and old Muslim city.
Among the sights you'll visit are- The Lonja de la Seda - or Silk Exchangeю Listed as the World Heritage Site by UNESCO, it is one of the most magnificent gothic monuments in Europe. The first stone was laid in the 1492, with construction beginning the following year. The upper floors were originally used as a prison for defaulted borrowers..
-the Basilica houses the shrine of the Virgen de los Desamparados, the patron saint of Valencia.
Built on the ruins of the Roman forum, construction of the basilica began 1652 and lasted for nearly two centuries, untill 1824. Such a long construction period resulted in rather unique blend of architectural styles incarnated in this building, including Baroque, Renaissance, Rococo and Neoclassicism.
Marques de Dos Aguas Palace is the rectangular, rococo style building boasts impressive towers on each corner. The palace façade asserts the building’s character with its paintings and replica marble adornment. The heavy main doorway is made of alabaster and is presided over by the Virgin of the Rosary. We are going to finish your Valencia Old Town tour with something truly special, taking you to the Central Market for traditional local drink and sweets testing.. The Central Market is a display of Valencia's modernist architecture. With construction dating back to 1914, the building has been recently renovated, displaying an impressive entry gate and colourful ceramic tiles.
