Italy is one of Europe’s prime destinations for several reasons. One of those reasons is Genoa, a jewel of northern Italy. Our representative will greet you upon arrival in the port of Savona before you drive down the historic Via Gramsci in an air conditioned bus to Genoa. Once there you’ll admire the quaint town square and monuments of this storied city-state, dubbed the “Sea Republic.” That includes the Piazza de Ferrari, called “the heart of Genoa” and features an emblematic bronze fountain.

Your guide will introduce you to the Aquarium of Genoa and the Palazzo Saint Giorgio, once home to the first bank in Italy. The tour includes a visit to the home of Christopher Columbus, at which point you’ll travel on foot through the town centre to the Saint Lawrence Cathedral as well as the atrium of Ducal Palace and Saint Jesus Church, home to two of Rubens’ most iconic paintings.

After taking in the town itself the guide will lead you by bus up the hill of Carignano, where one can observe an absolutely breathtaking panorama of Genoa and the surrounding countryside. The tour ends with an excursion back down to Piazza della Vittoria, home of the Arch to the Death, a monument to the victims of the First World War.

As always, following the tour your professional guide will escort you back to port where you embark on the next stop on your Mediterranean adventure. Genoa is simply a can’t-miss for anyone travelling in Italy, and we eagerly await your arrival in port!
