Riga Old Town

Sigulda is a touristic place where the beauty of nature becomes an integral part of the city. It is situated on a picturesque stretch of the Gauja River valley and is known as the "Switzerland of Vidzeme" because of the reddish Devonian sandstones which forms rocks and caves on both banks of the river. The city is particularly beautiful in clear autumn days because of the rich range of colors in trees. Here are placed few of the most important historical monuments, museums, nature objects and attraction places like, Turaida Medieval Castle built in 1214, Sigulda New Castle, sculpture garden dedicated to Latvian folklore - Dainu Hill, the biggest internal erosion cave in the Baltic States - Gutmanis Cave and many other.
