Guimares

Our guide will be waiting for you in the port of Oporto with the tourist bus, after about 45 minutes of travel we will arrive to Guimares, a modern city that has managed to maintain its artistic and cultural heritage, its structures and buildings show the development of Portuguese architecture from the fifteenth century to the nineteenth.
The first visit we will make will be the Castle of the Kings, it is a Medieval fortress built in the middle of the 10th century by order of the Countess Mumadona Dias in order to protect the town and the monastery from the possible attacks of the Normans and Arabs, also We will pass through the Palace of the Dukes of Bragança.
We will begin our tour walking through the old city where you can understand how they lived in those times, their shops, shops selling traditional ceramics, metalwork, are some of the shops that will be on this walk, we arrived at the Main Square where there is a church of the tenth century dedicated to the Virgin Mary, the facade is adorned with some magnificent sculptures, we will arrive at the Torre de Alfandega where we can see in large letters the words "Aquí nasceu Portugal", which means "Portugal was born here"
We will return to the port to embark.
