We will get to meet the city of Naples, starting with the historic center. We will explore all the corners of this city full of life through an interesting walking tour starting with the exterior visit of the San Carlo Theater, designed by Antonio Niccolini between 1810 and 1816. This is the most important theater in Naples, and one of the most famous in the world. It has served as an architectural model for other European theaters due to its size and characteristics design.

The heart of the city takes us to the imposing and majestic Piazza del Plebiscito where you are going to be able to observe the Royal Palace, one of the four residences used by the royal house of the Bourbons of Naples; the Basilica di San Francesco di Paola, the most important example of the neoclassical period in Italy; the Salerno Palace, built at the end of the 18th century and the Palace of the Prefecture of Naples. Here, in the Piazza del Plebiscito, you will also find the famous and historic Café Gambrinus where the Neapolitan aristocracy used to sit and enjoy.

Our walk continues through the town hall square, where we find the San Giacomo Palace, current residence of the mayor of Naples. We will then continue along the Via Medina which will guide us to the Maschio Angioino castle (Castel Nuovo), a symbol of the city of Naples located on the coast and from where you can see the Gulf of Naples crowned by Vesuvius.

Once the excursion is over, we will return to the maritime station to board your cruise ship.
