MYKONOS, PANORAMIC WALK AND ANCIENT CITY.

There is little question that Mykonos is among the world’s most gorgeous locations. Our professional guide would be thrilled to share it with you, greeting you at port and showing you this fantastic island! The first stop is the Monastery of Panagia Tourliani, founded in 1542 in commemoration of the island’s patron saint of the same name and only 8 kilometres from the island’s capital.

The Church of Panagia is regarded as one of Greece’s national treasures and represents the Cycladic style of building; including whitewashed walls and a bright coloured cupola. The interior is the true treasure, however. The hand-made Florentine altar is shown alongside icons of the Apostles and Saints, and a museum shows icons, sculptures and the original bells of the monastery. Do note: men must wear long pants and ladies must cover their shoulders, while cameras are prohibited.

After taking in that sight the tour includes a visit to Kalafatis, a popular beach famous for surfing and sunbathing. You’ll have 30 minutes to enjoy Kalafatis at your own pace before leaving for the town of Mykonos, passing the quaint villages of Drafati, Ornos and Aghiosloannis along the way. The small town of Mykonos is a destination in and of itself, giving visitors the chance to see unique Greek architecture in whitewashed homes, winding streets full of hidden treasures, nostalgic windmills and museums. If you decide to stick around, the town is also home to a vibrant nightlife including clubs and bars. After taking in Mykonos, free time will be given if time affords it; afterwards your expert guide will politely return you to port, seeing you off to the next part of your journey across the Mediterranean!
