Taormina from the port of Messina

Upon arrival in the port of Messina our representative will meet you and show you aboard our air conditioned bus, and from there your journey to majestic Mount Etna begins! The bus will drive through the historic centre of Messina before getting on the highway to Mount Etna, just a short drive from the town.

Along this picturesque motorway (which winds up the slope of the mountain) you’ll pass the town of Giarre and village of Zafferana before arriving at Mount Etna itself, lying at 1,950 meters above sea level. The mountain is the most immense active volcano in Europe, reaching a peak of 3,296 meters. From the summit visitors can enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the Gulf of Catania as well as the mountains famous crater and remnants of its last eruption.

After spending some time at the top of Mount Etna the tour will continue back down to Messina, where your friendly guide will personally see you off to port, where you embark for the next point on your European adventure!
