Visit to Marseille.

Our Excursions guide will meet you at the Port of Marseille where we board an air conditioned coach to take a guided tour of Marseille.

The tour of Marseille, a major French maritime city, begins with a visit to the Basilica of Notre Dame de la Garde, situated on top of a hill. The Basilica was built on the site of an ancient chapel and consists of two buildings the lower chapel/crypt which is built into the rock and the upper church which is decorated by mosaics.
The tour then continues along the Corniche until we reach Castle Borely where we can see the castle and gardens from the outside.

We will pass by the famous Stade Vélodrome to reach the "City Radiosa " of Le Corbusier ( Cité Radieuse ), a listed historical monument.

Quick stop at the Valley of the Auffes, via La Corniche (panoramic path with sea views from the hills).

Along the way we will discover the Abbey of Saint Victor (11th century) and the Fortress just before the entrance to the Vieux Port (the old port , one of the beauties of the city).

We will pass by the Canebière, the very heart of the city to get to the Palais Longchamp and enjoy its majestic fountain.

Finally, we will cross the perimeter of the Euroméditerranée, a modern area symbolizing the future of the city .

We will then return to the Port of Marseille so you can re-join your ship for onward passage to your next port of call.
