Panoramic Tour of Argostoli and Melissani Cave

Group size:

  • Date: select
  • Duration: 4 hours
  • PRIVATE

Our first stop will be at the Monastery of San Gerasimos, located on the top of a hill in the Omalos Valley.

After the Monastery, we will drive to the Melissani Cave. The cave is located on the island of Kefalonia, northwest of Sami. In Greek mythology, Melissani was the cave of the nymphs. The cave features a sky-blue lake covered with stones at the bottom. The cave was rediscovered in 1951 by Giannis Petrocheilos. Melissani cave is a typical feature of karst environment in coastal carbonate aquifer. The vertical shaft gives access to the water table (where you can do a round trip on a small boat!).

We end our tour with a photo stop at the picturesque beach of Myrthos. Myrtos has been described as "one of the most dramatic beaches in Greece", with its "mile-and-a-half long arc of dazzling white pebbles."

We will then return to the Port of Argostoli so you can re-join your ship for onward passage to your next port of call.
