Tour of the Outskirts of Amsterdam

On this guided tour you will experience some typical Dutch rural landscapes. We'll come across small canals on the way to Zaanse Schans, which is a well known place on the river Zaan with its historic windmills. We will visit a shoe factory that produces wooden shoes. The next stop will be in the world famous fishing village of Volendam. It is located on the coast that was formerly known as the "Zuiderzee" (now called Ijsselmeer). It is characterised by its green wooden houses and its inhabitants who wear traditional clothes. On the return journey we will visit one of the cheese farms, where cheese is still made with traditional methods.
